We’re super excited to introduce the delicious organic range from Sweet Nourishment to our stores. We chatted to owner Haylee from Forbes, NSW, earlier this month about how the range came to be and how you can create your own little bliss balls at home.
We’re so excited to have your products on our shelves – where did it all begin for Sweet Nourishment?
“You think you’re excited! It actually began from my first born having a milk protein allergy from birth. I was struggling with everyday eating choices for him & special occasions were proving enormously hard with everything these days containing dairy. So I decided to make my own treats for him – more notably chocolate ones!”
Why have you decided to introduce a pre-mix pack to your range?
“I’m all about convenience these days & my dry mix packs are designed that if you don’t have a blender or food processor you don’t need one! Grab a spoon & throw it all in! It’s also a great concept to get the kids involved in the kitchen coming into Christmas school holidays.”
Tell us about the process to get the product on our shelves? (talk about your choice of ingredients etc)
“It’s been 14 months in the making to get this product where it is today. Making sure everything meets food standard regulations & labelling plus the lab testing. You don’t realise how much goes on behind the scenes that’s for sure! Plus being homemade by myself I need to be able to find a work / family balance.
In terms of ingredients I have always tried to promote a ‘organic where possible is best’ approach. So I’m pleased to say everything I use is Certified Organic under Australian Standards.”
I’m sure it’s a bit like choosing a favourite child, but which flavour is your favourite?
“I’m crushing on cranberries at the moment, so definitely Cranberry & Cashew!”
How does it make you feel to hear so many people raving about your products?
“It’s amazing! It’s such a rewarding experience to be able to help people out in even the smallest ways & making a difference to their health & well-being. Healthy living isn’t a fad, it’s a lifestyle change for the better and something that is adopted over time.”
How do people make their own bliss balls at home?
“Buy a pack of Sweet Nourishment dry mix. Add the required amount of nut butter and honey or rice malt syrup, and simply mix by hand (or with a food processor if you have one) and then roll into balls! Our packs make up to 12 balls depending on your size. Store in the fridge or freezer until you’re ready to eat!”
